We are retained as an exclusive executive search partner for this highly interesting Responsible Artificial Intelligence GM/Senior GM role. This is an unique role overseeing an organisation’s responsible AI implemetnation, management and scaling.
The Responsible AI GM will lead the organization’s efforts in ensuring that all AI initiatives are conducted responsibly, ethically, and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves managing the development, implementation, and monitoring of AI policies, fostering a culture of ethical AI use, and collaborating with various stakeholders to mitigate risks and drive responsible AI governance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation, enforcement, and regular updates of the company’s AI policies, ensuring alignment with industry best
- practices and ethical standards.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to AI policy guidelines and ethical principles throughout the organization.
- Manage the implementation of AI Governance and Compliance platforms for proper oversight and accountability in AI
- initiatives.
- Ensure all AI projects comply with relevant local and international laws and regulations, coordinating with legal and compliance
- teams to navigate the complex regulatory landscape.
- Collaborate with AI risk management teams to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks, including algorithmic bias, data
- privacy issues, and unintended consequences of AI deployment.
- Foster a culture of responsible AI use by organizing training programs, workshops, and engagement initiatives to educate
- employees on ethical AI practices.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to address AI challenges and promote a
- shared understanding of responsible AI use.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with various departments for AI development and deployment.
- Guide the AI Governance Board and related entities in developing and refining cross-functional AI policies, ensuring that they
- are aligned with the organization’s ethical standards and business goals.
- Keep abreast of evolving AI technologies, legal requirements, and ethical considerations to ensure the organization remains at
- the forefront of responsible AI innovation.
- Provide strategic guidance on addressing AI-related risks, advising on best practices for mitigating algorithmic bias, ensuring
- data privacy, and managing the societal impacts of AI.
- Conduct regular benchmarking against industry standards to ensure the organization’s AI practices remain competitive and
- responsible.
- Develop and implement protocols for responding to AI-related incidents, ensuring swift action to address any ethical or
- compliance issues that arise.
- Prepare detailed reports on AI compliance and ethical practices for senior leadership, providing transparency and
- accountability in AI governance.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Creation of a talent pipeline (1:2) of successors.
- Monitor and ensure that all Gen AI Projects / Programs are running as per agreed schedule.
- Ensure that the organization’s sustainability targets are achieved.
- Ensure judicious use of natural resources and adhere to the organization's environment, health, and safety policies, objectives,
- and guidelines.
- Manage special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the management.
Requirements:
- Postgraduate, Masters, or Global Equivalent Degree in a related field.
- 10-15 years of proven work experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or a related technology field.
- In-depth knowledge of AI-related laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines
- Capability to take calculated risks and initiate action to capitalize on growth and advancement opportunities.
- Smart and strong organisational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to guide the organisation through complex AI-related challenges and driving the strategic direction of AI initiatives.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing ethical AI frameworks, including hands-on experience with AI governance
- and risk management.
- Extensive experience working with regulatory frameworks related to AI, data privacy, and technology ethics, ideally within highly
- regulated industries.
