Role Overview
The Deputy General Manager / General Manager – Japan BD & AMT will play a key role in driving business growth, setting strategic direction, and ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while managing key relationships with government officials, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and tourism departments—both in Japan and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development, Strategy & Planning
• Develop and execute annual business plans to expand beyond the company’s core business.
• Identify and establish new business relationships, including value-added services.
• Strategize and pursue new tender/bid opportunities, partnerships, and alliances to increase market presence.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with diplomatic missions, MOFA, and other key stakeholders.
• Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Japan MOFA, managing client relationships and key accounts.
• Represent the company in meetings with government officials and business delegates, showcasing its capabilities.
• Drive the preparation and presentation of business proposals to MOFA.
Market Intelligence, Tender Management & Compliance
• Gain a deep understanding of the company’s service offerings and customer requirements.
• Lead bid/tender documentation efforts in collaboration with internal departments.
• Conduct competitive market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and Compliance
• Adhere to environmental, health, and safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS) and other regulatory requirements.
Travel Requirement: 35–40%, primarily within Southeast Asia.
Candidate Requirements
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in Business Development, General Management, Sales, and Account Management.
• Fluent in Japanese and English (bilingual proficiency is essential).
• Strong experience in large bid/tender responses, including stakeholder engagement and contract negotiations.
• Proven ability to manage government clients and internal stakeholders.
• Preferred: Experience in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, or related industries (not mandatory).
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
