Dream11, India’s leading fantasy sports app, has launched its free-to-play fantasy sports platform in the UK as part of its global expansion into 11 countries including the US, Australia, and UAE. This move follows India’s ban on real-money gaming contests under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025. Adapting to new regulations, Dream11’s UK launch focuses on non-cash contests where users compete in fantasy leagues for brand-backed rewards and prizes, complying with local laws. The expansion enables Dream11 to tap into the sizable UK sports-loving market, estimated to grow to a $3 billion fantasy sports industry by 2030. Co-founder and CEO Harsh Jain highlighted the shift from entry-fee based revenue to advertising and sponsorships, as part of Dream11’s strategy to diversify beyond India and thrive in mature, advertising-driven markets globally.
